Serious Gaming

In the course Serious Gaming, my group Raphael Buchberger, Annika Schmitz, Simon Schilke and me created a board game that is called Parenting. The game is for people that think about getting children and future parents to get a basic idea on what they have to keep in mind when raising a child. It also illustrates many different choices that a parent can take for their child.
The game is being played in turns and every round, every player makes one step and needs either to answer a question or do an activity card. Depending on how he or she answers from the different possibilities, he or she will be graded at the end of the game as either a loving, very strict or not caring parent.
My part in this game has been throughout the whole project as we have all done everything more or less. In detail I have helped to create the board game design, and making the prototype such as box, the cards and the table. Furthermore I was responsible for the questions and activity fields for an almost grown up child. I participated in the presentations that we have given and helped on fine tuning the concept of the whole game.

Utopia

The word utopia has potentially different meanings to different people and especially different groups of society. In this short essay I will be using the word utopia as a representation of an ideal society and will shortly discuss my consisting elements of such a society.
To begin with I must stress the point that my elements for a utopia can be very different to other peoples ideas of a utopia, as a an ideal society will be only ideal for some kind of people but never for all in my opinion. As for example, people that think that they have the perfect life right now might not want to change anything in the world, as everything could be easily affected. Me on the other hand would say that a Utopia has to have many elements, but the most important ones would be no crime, no hunger and no poverty. This list could now go on for almost ever, for example no deathly illnesses would be good but the first three points would make a good start and if these points would be fulfilled you could call it Utopia to my mind. I think it is unfair if some people in the world are dying because they do not get enough food just because they were born at a certain place. Furthermore, crime should not exist, as I think it is just wrong. I don't think that anybody would be unfriendly to someone if every person in his life has been friendly to him. Friendly means in this case, did not do any harm to the other person.  And the third point was no poverty, I do not believe that everyone needs to have the same amount of money, the same house, the same car etc. but no one should have to live on the streets for example. It is difficult to draw the line here, at which point someone would not be poor anymore but this cannot be discussed in such a short essay.
To conclude, a Utopia needs to consist of at least these three elements in my mind, no crime, no hunger and no poverty.

Mailbox
There is a new video on my youtube channel to the right. You can see under assignments what it is about.

Here you can see some of the work that I am doing during my study or that I have already done.

Assignment 5 Vc
The assignment was to create a poster or a flyer for our interactive video that we have been making in our We create identity course. Our movie is about a man who has lost his memory and tries to find out what happened to him and why he has lost his memory. The title of the movie is Amnesia and I have created a poster.

Assignment 4 VC
This assignment was about choosing two pictures and two verbs and match them together. The chosen font should support the meaning of the verb and the picture.

I have used the words relax and rely as you can see above.

Assignment 3 was to use a typeface that we liked and improve it on letters that we thought could be improved. I have used the typeface Curlz MT.
Every letter that has an exclamation has been improved. I have improved every letter that fall out of the scheme. As in my opinion every letter is supposed to have one curl and one little stroke.

We create Identity
The first thing that I have done for Creative Technology was shooting an interactive movie, it is called Amnesia. The movie was based on a character that has lost his memory and is now trying to recover his memory. The viewer takes part by making the choice at certain moments. This will affect the way the movie will end. You can be a different person in a different situation through the different decisions that you have made throughout the movie. Here you can take a look at it and experience the movie.

This is Bob, the main character.
